Mobile VR Jam Man Overboard– Updated Impressions. When I first tried this game a week or two ago, there was just the cannon shooting mechanic which was still a lot of fun. The devs have been busy updating the game and there are goals now.
You start off on a boat with multiple islands surrounding you. You are given about 25 tries to get all the treasures, and the balance on the difficulty is very well done. It took me about 15 minutes to get all the treasure chests with my tries. This might seem like an easy task but your field of view is limited as you are staring down the narrow barrel of a canon the whole time. A good strategy when you are having trouble with the chest locations is to launch yourself straight up into the air, and take that try to get an understanding of your surroundings.
It’s a very simple but well done game. It’s also an easy game to expand upon, adding new areas. I really enjoyed the rush of being shot out of a canon and the challenge, as some of the chests are beyond your scope of view. I would equate Man Overboard to a VR version of the game Worms, which isn’t a bad thing at all.
