“This Week on Milk VR” (name subject to change) highlights the best releases every week on Milk VR. This column will be airing every Sunday (somewhere in the USA). We figured it would be best making a separate column for Milk VR, due to Google Cardboard owners not being able to access this content.
It has been a slow week on Milk VR, but the Gear Indie community channel recently launched, and hopefully things will begin to gear up soon enough. There were a few favorites from this weeks releases, and surprisingly the best comes from Mountain Dew.
Again, to access this content you must load up the Milk VR App on your Gear VR Headset.
So without further ado, we bring our highlights from This Week on Milk VR:
Dew VR Bristol with Dale Jr.
While the quality seems closer to the 2k mark on this one, Mountain Dew creates quite the exciting video featuring a famous driver and his friends (feel free to mock me for not knowing the name) racing like maniacs towards the tracks where they go on an intense high speed race against another car inside. Good stuff and kept my interest.
Armenia Immersed is a short little tour through Armenia by what seems to be a local. It gives good perspective beyond just showing a video of the area through a voiceover, and shows off the beautiful places quite well.
Nordic Reindeer Races
This unique video of Reindeer races (yes, actual Reindeer), has been around since April for Cardboard users to enjoy. I am very happy that Gear VR owners now have the opportunity to see this event as if they were there. It’s only a minute long but good for repeat viewings.
Lip Sync Battle: Victoria Justice
It seems like Lip Sync Battle is soon to become synonymous with the Gear VR, as it’s the only platform I’ve seen these videos appear on. I might be off a bit, but there must be almost 25 Lip Sync Battle Videos on the Gear VR now (just a guess without looking at the directory). So this week we get to listen to Victoria Justice’s performance of Nelly’s “Hot in Herre”.
There’s a car show that has been on Milk VR for the last few weeks, and the name escapes me. Either way, it hasn’t impressed much. Thus, I have left it off. I’ll revisit it in a few weeks to see if it has changed. See you next Sunday with hopefully more videos to draw from!
