I’ll take some time to give you guys the back story on this video. Last Thursday, I found myself in New York City attending The Hunger Games VR Experience Premier Party. Little did I know that my friend from Alex Pearce Productions was also in town, and itching to get some good 360° video footage. Also joining us was Pierre Friquet, VR filmmaker.
With my love for Karaoke and having seen nothing on the internet from the thousands of videos I have watched, I suggested we hit up some of my favorite Karaoke bars around town and film the first Karaoke footage in 360°. The video above is from a famous NYC karaoke bar, Sing Sing Karaoke on St. Marks Street. The staff is almost all Japanese, and there is no stage. Everyone just sings at the bar. As you can tell, people aren’t shy about joining in on songs, especially when that song is Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. In case you were curious, almost everyone at the bar had a lot to drink, which is usually the case when it comes to Karaoke.
